Ivy League Academic Writing
This class teaches participants how to write an academic text for purposes of project work, essays and papers.
The class includes an introduction and background to academic writing, allowing students to see the purpose and importance of using references and precise language in scholarly texts. Participants will study the components of academic texts and learn a structured writing process employed by successful authors, as well as specific techniques commonly applied in an academic context.
At the end of the class, participants will know how to analyse topics, conduct research, structure texts for varying purposes and write convincing arguments supporting their ideas.
Teaching methodologies include lectures, group discussions, quizzes, reading and writing activities.
